Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take health insurance?

Communicating Kids Speech & Language is a private pay practice and does not currently participate in any health insurance plans.  Being a private pay practice allows us to spend more time providing exceptional, personalized services for our clients. Please see our 2024 rates here.

Payment for all services is due to Communicating Kids Speech & Language, PLLC at the time of service. We accept cash, check, and credit cards including FSA and HSA cards.

Health Insurance companies typically provide reimbursement for speech and language therapy and we are happy to provide a monthly superbill for you to submit to your health insurance company. A superbill is a detailed healthcare receipt that contains all the important coding information your health insurance company needs to reimburse you. If this is something you are interested in we recommend contacting your health insurance company directly to verify your speech-language therapy benefits for out of network providers.

When paying for health care services like speech therapy you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care services will cost upon request or when scheduling services. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises/consumers, email FederalPPDRQuestions@cms.hhs.gov, or call 1- 800-985-3059.

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

As a parent you know your child best. If you or your pediatrician have concerns about how your child is talking or not talking help is available. Give us a call, or schedule a free phone consultation. At Communicating Kids we believe in the importance of early intervention. An evaluation or screening by a speech-language pathologist is the first step in getting help for your child. During a screening a SLP quickly checks to see if skills are developmentally appropriate.  An evaluation is much more comprehensive, takes about an hour to complete and results in a treatment plan to help your child if one is needed. Learn more about evaluations.

What are some ways I can help my child improve their speech and language skills?
